Today is February 1 -- first day of the Letter Writing Challenge! I decided to gather my writing materials:
I penned a note to my mom's parents, the grandparents I know best. They live a few hours away but I rarely get to see them -- they don't get out much and I'm poor. But we still manage to talk every few weeks and Granny always lets me know what's hot in fashion at the moment or the best TV shows to watch (this year it is Nikita, which I have yet to see -- but she started me on Chuck, and two of her favorite movies are Spirited Away and The Last Samurai so I trust her judgement). Grandpa wants to hear something funny, and when I come over he cooks breakfast (biscuits and gravy from scratch) and writes limericks. They're lovely grandparents.
I wrote them a letter on my favorite stationary:
And even sketched (pencil) & colored (crayon/pen) in a drawing of Rapunzel, inspired by watching Tangled twice this last week:
Then I sealed everything up in a purple envelope and put a stamp on it:
And tipped it in the mail slot.
