Hey everybody, just a quick update before auditions begin!
Stu's short film, Consecro Mythos, is being cast (hopefully) today, starting at 1:30. We're excited! I'm helping out with costume/hair/makeup so my part isn't going to start until this part is over.
Wish us luck!
Have a great weekend.

Random Thoughts
I want to create something...story ideas swirl in my head, and then my hand itches to hold paintbrushes or colored pencils, to draw someone into existence...I want to write poetry and then again, I yearn to work on my dollhouse.
Unfocused creativity is the bane of my existence.
However, since I am at work, my choices are limited. I have pen and paper, Word, & embroidery at my disposal. I guess I'll try drawing first.
I've been learning how to play Magic and I have found that I really enjoy it. I'm not great at strategy but I like to try. I'm also not good at losing so even though I won't yell at you, I'll feel stupid and will not want to try again for a while. I am trying to learn, however, that to get better I need to play more, and if I don't understand that it's ok to ask a question.
I'm also getting better in other ways...I think my spirit is healing. I've had a couple dreams that have shown that I am getting better, and even though I haven't gone to church in a while and even though I don't attend chapels (even though I should), I am beginning once again to want to read Scripture. That's more important to me than having missed/attended any number of chapels.
I need to practice music. I will be woefully out of practice by the time weddings start happening. I've got 3 weddings and a church service to get through before the end of school. I like performing but I'd rather it was with people, which is why I like playing at church. I also don't like inconveniencing people which is why we're thinking about getting our own pick-up truck or at least a trailer that we can haul Elizabeth (the harp) around in.
I want a bunny rabbit. I've had bunnies in the past but living in the dorms has required me to go pet-less. (Except for fish, which aren't cuddly, but better than nothing) I am thinking about seeing if there is a bunny adoption place around, although I would love to own a Holland Lop if I can find one for cheap. Small, lop-eared rabbits are my favorite. I would get a dog but we cannot have something that destructive in the house. At least, not in this tiny one. Maybe once we're in the commune *laughs*...or have moved into a larger establishment...:p
Alright...I'll stop blah-blah-blah-ing and go try to draw something. I can tell I'm about to start my monthly visit from Aunt Flo. My middle is constantly in pain and I want to do something creative. Sigh. Let's hope a cyst doesn't arrive.

In Tune
Bodies are weird things.
I've been thinking about how to become more in tune with my body because, for the past six weeks, I've hardly been able to sleep for more than a few hours a night.
I've had to be at school and work a lot and the stress is causing nightmares. We've been staying at a friend's house (who has heat, thankfully!) so we're sleeping on a pallet, which sometimes causes my back to hurt, and I am pretty sure I have an iodine deficiency because the salt I'm eating doesn't have it and I don't eat a lot of food with large amounts of iodine (fish and eggs).
Bodies are delicate. They are so delicate, in fact, that the slightest disruption can cause a huge problem. Like a tiny, pea-sized cyst on my ovary. I've had one - and it was the worst pain I have ever experienced - I went crazy with rage because it hurt so bad.
I need to become more in tune with my body. I need to be aware of its needs and how my body, different from anyone else's, is run.
I am lactose intolerant - cold milk makes me sound like I "am in the last stages of consumption." (Quote from a book, but forget which one)
I am asthmatic - no smoke for me.
I have a weird reaction to caffeine - it makes me sleepy almost immediately.
I have now remembered the only sleep schedule that works for me: 2 am - 8 am. That's it. That's when I sleep best. If I go to bed earlier I sleep too lightly and I'm up all night. If I get up before eight, I'm tired all day. Six hours is all I need but I need SPECIFIC hours.
Although, I think with regular exercise, I would be tired enough to go to bed at midnight and sleep eight hours instead of six. However, since I don't regularly exercise, I need only six hours to be fully rested.
I'm just thinking about how I can take care of this fragile body to the best of my ability and wondering what I can do to make sure that it is taken care of well and will last me a long time...it's weird, thinking of this as a case...I love the quote of C.S. Lewis's, "You don't have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body." My soul is the real me - my body is just the case. You still need to take care of the delicate casing, for the soul to survive.
Weird. I had never thought of it that way.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog
I entreat you to hurry along to hulu.com and watch Joss Whedon's beautiful little three-part series entitled "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog."
It's lovely!
Similar in style to the Buffy Musical episode (Season 6).
Starring Nathan Fillion as Capt. Hammer, the Superhero! :)
Do please go view it. It's a treat!
For further recommendations of the delights of Hulu, here are shows I view quite often while perusing that particular locale:
-Chuck
-Psych
-The Office
-Buffy the Vampire Slayer
-Angel
-ALF
-The Adams Family
-Rocky & Bullwinkle
-Firefly
-Arrested Development
etc.
"Hulu: An Evil Plot to Destroy the World. Enjoy." [from their advertisement]

FRIKKIN' CHUCK - OH THE AGONY!
*screams*
WHY??????
:)
I really, really love the show Chuck. As you all know. But SOMETIMES it just breaks my heart!!!! I think they do a great job of mixing action, drama, and comedy...it's just fabulous.
This week's episode was SO SAD. Agh. I don't know how much more I can handle! If you haven't seen Chuck...you should. Most of the 2nd season is on Hulu, but watch the first season if you can find it. It's fantastic.
Now, off to sob...
:) Not really.

Exhaustion...I Havez It
I am so exhausted.
I haven't had time to rest, it seems, for weeks. I'm dragging myself to school for class and homework and work, dragging myself through dinner, and dragging myself around to whatever else we have to do.
I haven't been sleeping well for a long time - dunno if it's b/c we sleep with the light on sometimes or if I am stressed b/c of school or...a mixture of things.
Sigh.
I just wish I could sleep.
Yes. You heard me.
Kate, who hates sleeping, now wishes she could sleep. :)
I feel alright besides the lack of sleep.
There was FREE PANERA stuff outside the student lounge today so for a mid-morning snack I got an orange-iced scone...yum, yum, yum! There is an abundance of bread, bagels, & pastries. Delish.
I just read a friend's first draft of his book. Awesome. Western/Fantasy. Totally cool. I love getting friends' stuff to read, it really makes my day so much better! I'm reading an outline of a film Stu is working on right now - wow, it's so exciting!!! I can't wait to see it...:)
I want to work on my dollhouse today...I seriously doubt, however, between work, dinner, and math class, that I will have time. Blast school/work.
I feel like all I do is go from one thing to the next and I have to do everything as quickly as possible so I can go on to the next task...whew.
I am so tired.
Spring Break, where are you???

February Blues
Hey everybody -
No, I'm not really blue...but I'd love to write a wintery rag-time piece called "February Blues." I think it would be cool.
Well, I put the Dormer windows on the dollhouse and I'm figuring out how I want the porch to look. I have found that although I can follow instructions...I really do prefer doing things my own way. Therefore, my dollhouse will NOT have froo-froo gingerbread or lacy little wooden add-ons. Straight, simple lines, white walls with dark stained floors/beams. The two rooms I'm adding are going to look cool, I think. One's going to have a stone floor and one has a wood floor (stained dark)...
I think making this dollhouse is what's holding my sanity together. There is so much to process this semester...work, school, keeping a house semi-clean, etc...there's just so much to do and I love sitting down to an activity where my brain can rest and my hands can take over. I can lay a wood floor (in miniature) and stain it, I can sand and glue things together, I can put all the little puzzle pieces together and create something beautiful. Thank goodness for hobbies.
I started cross-stitching again this morning. Occasionally I come back to cross-stitching when I need a hobby that's easy to carry around. One time I had the idea to do little bitty cross stitch 'hangings' of princesses - I finished a Snow White one but Belle is still incomplete. Right now I'm working on a crest to go in the dollhouse (of course). I made a shield shape and then I'm going to put in the Hogwarts colors for each house and then a big H in the middle. It'll hang somewhere in the house. Hopefully, it will look cool!
I'm working on my Harry Potter FDS...I'm halfway through Order of the Phoenix so I've got 2 more books to get through after this and write a paper! I'm looking forward to it. Next month I have an art project due, so no reading or watching HP but I do get to plan out Snape costumes...although, silly man, he always wore black apparently! I'm going to draw him at different ages though since the movies have to show that too.
I've figured out why I hate Order of the Phoenix so much: the main reason is that I HATE Umbridge. The most hateful person on earth...every time I read OOTP I want to rip it to pieces. Ugh. I've never hated a character more. :) I also don't really like Cho Chang so she and Harry just annoy me. :) But other than that, I'd forgotten how good it is. The Weasleys really come into their own (Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes/Skiving Snackboxes, Ron becomes a Quidditch team member) and the Department of Mysteries part is awesome...
Anyway...I feel like writing something other than a blogpost...a story or poem...but I feel like I should be doing homework. So back to reading OOTP. Oh, the tragic-ness of homework...MUAHAHAHA.
Yay Harry Potter FDS. And Dr. Dan. :)

The Goings-On in Kate's Mind
Well...I have several things to be thankful for this weekend!
1. I AM DONE FOREVER WITH TRIGONOMETRY (unless I fail Math Class...let's not dwell on that!) as I have just completed my first math exam (last night). A sigh of relief!
2. I don't have marketing class next week. While that will be sad, as I love talking about advertising (maybe I just like talking...), I am glad to have a break. Now I can concentrate on Harry Potter...:p
3. I got to work on my dollhouse last night! I put the sides on and the roof and I glued the 3 dormers together...I can put them on the house once I figure out what I'm doing w/ the walls...yay spackling!
4. It's Valentine's day tomorrow and I have a husband to celebrate with! I got him some presents and we are going to spend the weekend at his parents' house. Yay for a weekend getaway from school and work!!!
5. Stu gets paid today! We can go grocery shopping! WOOT WOOT!
6. Someone offered to buy me a harp tuning key! So now I can play on Caspian again! (I'm playing at Church for one of my FED's!)
7. I'm playing in a few weddings (some of them are paid!) already - nice to have extra income and practice on my harp!!
-
So...things are looking up today...and I was thinking...speaking of popular music, there's a weird thing about Miley Cyrus's music (and other pop teen music) that I was mulling over in my head...
Here's a few thoughts:
1. I think some (if not all) of us have forgotten what it was like to be a pre-teen/early teen. We forget how ridiculous we are and how emotional things become...I think we forget that we were once dramatic, hyper little kids at one point.
2. These singers are singing about what we all want: Love. I haven't heard many pop songs that talk about something else. "One in a Million," "Good-bye," and "See You Again" are all about love - finding love, losing love, and discovering love...or at least the possibility. These stars are singing about what each and every person on earth needs. Pop culture is so interesting...
3. One of Miley Cyrus's songs is actually...well, the only word I can think of is "praise" - it really sounds like it could be used as a praise song. It's called "As I Am" and here's some of the lyrics:
As I am
Is how you take me
Never try to push
Or make me different
When I talk you listen to me
As I am
Is how you want me
I know I've found the piece that's missing
I'm looking at him
I mean, seriously, the God-human relationship is what I think about every time I hear this song. Again - it's what everyone's looking for - the ultimate Love. We're searching for something - and sometimes, we find Him. Just an interesting thought.
4. I'm reading the Goblet of Fire, The Little Prince, and, shortly, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, by Brian Selznick (who also illustrated it). I'm about done w/ Goblet of Fire which means I have...2 weeks to read The Order of the Phoenix, The Half-Blood Prince, & the Deathly Halllows...and then on to write a character study of Snape!! It's so fascinating to go back and see what he's been up to from the beginning. I think my love of Snape began seeing Alan Rickman portray him (I mean, who isn't in love with A. R.??) but as soon as I read the books, I knew he would be my favorite. Of course, he's nasty to Hermoine, Ron, Harry, & Neville, and yes, he's not the nicest guy in the world...but his character is deep, complex, and intensely ruled by one thing: his love for Lily Evans. Wow. What a character! You find out in Goblet of Fire that he WAS a Death Eater but that he got a second chance from Dumbledore...and that Dumbledore trusts Snape absolutely. No question. Man, I love this FDS. And Snape. And Dumbledore. And J.K. Rowling! :)
Have a lovely weekend, dear ones, I shall return on Monday!

'Tis Beneath Me, Forsooth!
It has come to my attention that there is a group of people (most adults) who won't do things because it is 'beneath them.' (This is different than being scared and not trying something new) Not that they would say that in so many words, and not saying that they are prideful or anything. All I am saying is that...some people have forgotten that it's alright to be silly, be full of wonder, to be imaginative and to do exactly what you like...and it saddens me. Also...some people won't give a thing a chance if certain names are attached - like, you would never listen to Hannah Montana, would you? Or the Jonas Bros.? And you REALLY wouldn't watch High School Musical, would you? You would hate to be forced to read Twilight, wouldn't you?
Some things are worth that - High School Musical, from what I have seen, is a poorly-acted, poorly-written teenie bopper movie. The Jonas Bros. are idolized for their looks, it seems, not their talent (which seems to be lacking - I have heard some of their songs).
However - some things deserve a chance. Don't knock it 'til you try it. Or at least research it. Here are some things that I have come to realize might be worth something:
1. Miley Cyrus music - otherwise known as Hannah Montana, this girl has her own show on Disney and a few cds out. Legitimately, her music isn't great. HOWEVER since I am not a music snob, I actually do enjoy a few of her songs, which is as much as I can say for any other band (except for Relient K - there are exceptions to every rule!) - I usually only like 3 or 4 songs per band, even though I'll listen to more than that. I actually like the sound and words of some of Miley's songs. And I like her voice. Henceforth, I unapologetically will listen to Miley - at least, 3 or 4 of her songs.
2. Kids books - you're never too old to read kids books. They are my favorite genre and about the only one I'm interested in at present. I am forced to read textbooks, but when I have a choice I will go to the childrens' section, pull out a pile of books and sit down in a corner to read. For hours.
3. Larping/Dress-Up - I know, I know, I get why some people do not like larping. I understand and I won't fight them on it. HOWEVER - I like the idea of larping. When I was little, I re-enacted (same as larping, dears) Beauty and the Beast with my friend Caleb (except for the kissing part), I did re-enacting for Revolutionary War Historical Sites (it IS larping, you're dressing up and playing a part for a short period of time), and I would still do that if I could find somewhere that didn't specialize in just Civil War re-enactments.
4. Movie you think might be dumb: In my case, I would not watch A Series of Unfortunate Events. Dumb, right? It's a beautiful, amazingly exquisite movie, one of my top ten (in the top five actually) favorite movies of all time. Why wouldn't I watch it? Because everyone was going crazy about the books. My friend begged me to watch it with her and I complied, a little grumpily. I loved it and then bought it, the soundtrack, and all the books, which I have read. They're great. Why did I protest against such magic?
Those are the big four...other little things that people won't try are foods ('it just looks gross - ew, that sounds disgusting'), new activities/games ('I would hate that game'), crafts ('Only little kids do that stuff'), some movies ('that looked dumb'), etc.
Why?
Either because 1. They're afraid of what people might say if they find out or 2. They just don't have an interest in something 'beneath them', even if they don't really know a lot about it.
Come on. Be objective.
There's something I didn't think about until today when I thought of how I would have to defend myself against those who will hate that I listen to Miley Cyrus music: For something to be very popular, there is usually SOMETHING that makes it so popular/worthwhile. For Miley, it's the poppy sound of her music. People won't market that stuff if there isn't SOMETHING about it that will make people buy it. And, if it isn't worth it, it won't stand the test of time. It will just be a passing fad...but sometimes, passing fads are worth paying attention to.
And why should I have to defend my choices against my friends, who should love me and accept me for who I am, anyway?
My Favorite Fantasy Series (multiple)
I've wanted to write this post for a while now, I got the idea a week or two ago when I wondered what books CIU had on Harry Potter since I am currently doing an FDS on the HP books/movies (centered around Snape).
Some interesting notes, before I begin:
1. CIU DOES possess a copy of every Harry Potter book. They also have books on each side of the HP debate including (which is still a debate to some, although Twilight is debated a bit in some circles now) - "HP: The MENACE behind the MAGICK" and "The Gospel According to Harry Potter" (Christian HP fan defending it against HP-haters). I think CIU should be applauded for this. Or rather, Mr. Wenger & Dr. Dan who are, in fact, crazy HP fans.
2. My dad loves to read but neither of my parents like sci-fi/fantasy AT ALL. Mom likes to read historical fiction/biographies/classics (Anne of Green Gables, Little House on the Prairie, and Gone With the Wind are some of her favorites)and Dad likes to read Tom Clancy, John Grisham, Christian novels, (NOT Left Behind although he read some of those when they first came out)and other spy thrillers.
3. I don't know how I got my love of sci-fi/fantasy. Well...I know what started it but I don't know how it was allowed to grow and develop into a reading obsession. For a while, if I didn't read a book a day I had 'hunger pains' to read...I'm pretty addicted to reading as it is now, but it was much worse when I was younger. I used it as an escape mechanism and besides, who doesn't want to explore other worlds?
First off - I started reading at 5, around the same time everyone else does. I was homeschooled and we had a reading curriculum, that, apparently, had me reading in a few weeks. I already knew my favorite Dr. Seuss books by heart so I started reading The Chronicles of Narnia - I read all of them that year and have read them at a least once a year since then. They were my first favorite fantasy series.
Second - I was really a reading addict. My friends would hide their books when I came to play because, otherwise, I would just sit and read. My mom punished me for things by telling me 'you can't read a book for the rest of the day.' I was devastated every time. She also would take my books and make me play outside in the summertime. Maybe that's why I hate summer so much...:) I began choosing my own books and the library is, to this day, one of my favorite places. It always makes me happy to peruse a library, or, better yet, a used bookstore (so I can buy for cheap and keep them - the only downside to a library is that you have to return the books).
Third - I do a lot of research about the authors I read and the books that sound interesting to me. When I'm at the library, I have a system of finding books I like - I walk through the aisles (Childrens' section, 99% of the time) and glance through the titles. If one sounds interesting, I pull it out. I can ALWAYS tell by the cover if I am going to like the book. I've experimented with this and found it to be true. Except that one time.
Needless to say, I've read quite a bit. My favorite categories are: fantasy, sci-fi, historical fiction/fiction, childrens' books, classics, fairytales/myths/folklore, poetry, information books about art, history, dance, theatre, artists, movies, dollhouses (any of my passions), and the occasional biography, thriller, or cookbook.
I do NOT enjoy books that are strictly in the romance category. I also do not tend to check out books that are 'Christian', ESPECIALLY the Christian romance novels. UGH.
My three favorite fantasy series (different from trilogies, b/c there are several trilogies that I love as well) are: The Chronicles of Narnia, The Redwall Series, and the Harry Potter Series.
All of these, oddly enough, are from British writers. C.S. Lewis, Brian Jacques, and J.K. Rowling, two of whom are still living. I have read C.S. Lewis's and Brian Jacques' other writings (or most of them) but as I am talking about series today I will not discuss them.
The Chronicles of Narnia - I know some people hate this series, but for the life of me I cannot figure out WHY. They are not strictly allegorical, although they do have quite similar parallels with Christianity. A REAL allegory is the Pilgrim's Progress - which is alright but nothing like The Chronicles. I love the Chronicles of Narnia because when I was little, I did not understand what they meant. I knew what happened to Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy, but I did not know what that meant in my life. As I got older, I realized that C.S. Lewis had 'baptized' my imagination (he mentions 'baptizing the imagination' in his writings) and I could see what he was talking about. His writing is, for lack of a better word, old-fashioned, which is my favorite style of writing. I love the fine and delicate touch people had in childrens' stories of that period. The imagery and story elements are brilliant and I adore these books very much. Since I think in color, The Chronicles of Narnia are a swirl of gold and crimson, beautiful, enchanting, and standing the test of time. Classics that will never die.
The Redwall Series - These books have made Brian Jacques quite famous in some circles, but his books are not as widely know as either C.S. Lewis's or J.K. Rowling's. His epic Aurthurian/Robin Hood-esque stories about hares, badgers, mice, ferrets, stoats, and foxes are legendary. All of his books are at least 400 pages, most ending up at around 700...the reason I love these books so much is, again, the imagery. The stories are highly entertaining and there are quite exciting parts in each, but the imagery of the food the animals eat (homemade scones and harvest ale, anyone?) makes my mouth water. The bravery and honesty of the good woodland creatures is to be admired and followed, and, honestly, I love the accent Brian Jacques made up for the moles. They are so cute. And the Badgers will eff you up. The hares are also entertaining and oh! The otters! Well, you should go read them yourself. Luckily, Brian has written over 15 of these books and is still happy to write them. He started writing for the blind children he worked with which is why Redwall is so full of imagery. These books are stuff of legend and I hope that my children will love them. The colors of Redwall, to me, are a bright red and moss green.
My final favorite series is, of course, the Harry Potter series. I love, love, love this series. This is the newest of my favorite series, the one I've read most recently (I'm reading it through for the...3rd or 4th time?) and the one with my favorite literary character of all time - at least, of the books I've read so far. :) I did a lot of research, I prayed a lot because of all the dumb hype Christians had about it, and I have argued about it, discussed it, and written about it to every side of the HP debate.
I can't see why this series is bad but I won't go into that now - I will just say that this series is the only thing that helped me process my grief over the death of my brother (that happened when I was 2) and helped me re-think my ideas on death and life and love and every thing else that people need to sit down and think about. I really respect J.K. Rowling and when I heard Dumbledore was gay it gave me MUCH more respect for a character I already loved. Professor Severus Snape, however, is my favorite character. The HP books have helped me through some rough times. I (again, it's my favorite thing about a book) love the imagery and the storylines and the characters and the way Rowling writes. The books are a swirl of colors, crimson, gold, purple, orange, silver, green, blue...many of my favorite colors.
If you like to read and haven't read any of these books, I would highly suggest all of them. They are, in order:
CHRONICLES OF NARNIA (published order which is the best way to read them):
The Lion, The Witch, & the Wardrobe
Prince Caspian
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Silver Chair
The Horse & His Boy
The Magician's Nephew
The Last Battle
REDWALL (not in order as you don't have to read them in order):
Redwall (#1)
Mossflower
The Bellmaker
The Pearls of Lutra
The Long Patrol (#9)
The Outcast of Redwall
The Legend of Luke (#12, my personal favorite)
Marlfox
Martin the Warrior
Taggerung
Triss
Mattimeo
etc.
THE HARRY POTTER SERIES
Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone (or, in England, the Philosopher's Stone)
Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban (one of my favorites)
Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince (might be my favorite)
Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows (2nd favorite?)
Have fun reading!

Building Time
Well...this is another dollhouse post. :)
I went to Wal-Mart last night with my ever-patient husband and shopped around for about an hour for primer, stain, craft sticks, paintbrushes, masking tape, dowels (square), paints, sandpaper, etc...but sadly it is too cold and I have no time to do anything for my dollhouse yet. :(
BUT
I do have plans...
1. I got craft sticks and stain (a nice red mahogany) for the floors, which I can do this weekend...
2. Primer to get the outside of my house ready for painting/spackling/stoning
3. Copper paint for the corrugated cardboard that will become the roof
4. and dowels for beams and supports for the two rooms I've 'bashed' to the original dollhouse.
This really IS exciting...my little house is coming together...as long as our heat starts working and I can get my homework done so I have time to sit and build!!!
It's so neat to be able to do all this in miniature...I love building things/making things that are small...it's inspiring to be able to create.
I really love doing this. Maybe I can make it into a job...although maybe that would take all the fun out of it...:) Maybe. That might be a stretch. Creating is always fun.
Love to all.

How am I out-of-date AND techno-forward??
This isn't really true...I'm not REALLY techno-forward. I just got an iPod last year 'cause I begged my brother to let me have his old one...I don't have/want an iPhone or Blackberry...I don't even have a phone, for Pete's sake...but apparently, I am ahead of the game in some respects.
In other ways...I'm far behind. I hate Family Guy, Over the Hill, Futurama, and other such crappy shows. (sorry guys...) BUT I do love Rocky & Bullwinkle, Alf, the Adams Family, M*A*S*H* and other old/cancelled shows like Arrested Development, Angel, the X-Files, Firefly... They're just better. (Excepting Chuck, Battlestar Galactica, The Office & Psych, which are on right now - those are good)
ANYWAY
the point of this is that I was in marketing class this morning, rating the SuperBowl commercials along w/ my classmates and professor (I do like the class, even though we have a horrible quiz every week) when I started laughing at the Hulu commercial and saying how much I love Hulu and how awesome it is, etc. Basically a 3 minute infomerical for Hulu, which, as you know, I adore.
EVERYONE was like "What is Hulu?" except for Joey, who JUST started watching stuff on Hulu. Really, guys? I know it was new LAST year but seriously, this is the greatest thing since TV!!!!
I watch Psych, Chuck, The Office, and occasionally Battlestar Galatica and Heroes on there, along with Angel and Buffy. I also sometimes watch Rocky & Bullwinkle, I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched, and The Aadams Family. It's great for movies, too, but I don't usually have enough time to watch an entire movie. I have to watch stuff on here 'cause we don't have cable and honestly, I prefer this. If we had internet at the house I could plug my TV up to the computer and watch the shows on TV just the same as everybody else.
So - this is to recommend HULU for all of you who don't know what it is/haven't used it yet! It's FREE, you can watch TV shows/movies with FEWER COMMERCIALS and there are tons of options. So go to hulu.com and enjoy!

New Blog!
Oh dear.
I am now writing in 5 different blogs on blogger. I have 1 for my story The Gentleman & The Lady (I need to update that one...), one for when I get upset (you can't see that one, haha), one for daily blogging for whatever reason I feel like, one to post on with the other members of our D&D group and...
I just started one for Dido.
No, I'm not obsessed. I just found myself wanting to learn a little more about Dido so I can 'flesh out' her character. It will be a sort of journal for her as she wanders along with the group. Her blog can be found at: didosilvana.blogspot.com
I have only put up 1 post but I'll probably write in it at least once a week. What fun!
Have a lovely evening, everyone.

More Dollhouse Stuff...Sorry, you guys
Hey all,
Well, we spent the weekend warm thanks to awesome friends!!! :) However, I pined away for my dollhouse and was not truly happy until today, when I had 3 uninterrupted hours of dollhouse bliss. I continued to punch out pieces, sand, and follow the instructions. Until I was told to sand MORE little pieces for the 8th or 9th time. Then, I was like "Whatever, I'm not putting this together quite yet because I need to make the bashed rooms" and then I was like "oooo my own design..." and then I started measuring w/ my handy measuring tape and cut the big piece of foam coreboard I bought into squares. Although they didn't come out perfect, I DEFINITELY prefer following my own design instead of following boring instructions. I pinned the walls/floors together and stood back to admire them. I made a room for a conservatory and a room that I haven't decided if it's going to be a living room, a library, or some other kind of room yet. Maybe a second bedroom, who knows?? I have to decide how to do the terrace as well but now I need more foam coreboard. Luckily, I have $40 that someone sent me for Christmas!! So I have spending money to finish out getting materials for this cute little house.
I have to figure out how to do the outside of the house and how I'm going to do the inside. If I'm doing the outside of stone, is the inside stone or is it a stone frame with wooden inserts or what? Hm. This is tricky.
It's definitely a LOT more detailed than I thought it would be. It's hard to think of everything but it's SO MUCH FUN that I can't wait to play with my dollhouse again. With the added rooms, the first floor is about 38 inches long. The top is around 22 inches, I think. Although the terrace will make it about 30 inches.
I'm making both extra rooms and the terrace removable from the main house so it will be easier to move. Somehow, I don't think we'll be staying in the trailer for too long. (Commune, anyone?)
So...dollhouse plans...what to do, what to do, and what to do next!! I am unsure at this point how to continue. I guess I need to paint/stain what needs to be done on the exterior and then glue that...anyway, I won't bore you with the building details.
I just...love this. I love creating something like this. I've missed my dollhouse and talked about bringing it down every year, and every year I've had to forego finishing it. Well, hopefully once I get this one's shell done I can decorate to my heart's content!
Sorry, I know none of you are interested, but it is fun to build and if you have any creativity...it might be more enjoyable than you think. :)
