Rapid-Fire Change

So...life comes at you fast. If you don't slow down and take a look around sometimes, you'll miss it. I forget where that quote comes from, but it's totally true. It is already July 8th, 2009. Where did June go? And May and April and March and February and January, for that matter?!?! It's crazy how fast time flies when you are busy, busy, busy and running all the time.

Things have changed pretty quickly for me all my life. I'm used to one day learning that something is going to happen and then BOOM it does and I'm off again, this time in a different direction.

The latest rapid-fire happenstance? We might just be purchasing our first house!!!

Crazy, right?!?! Well, it happened this way...

We were getting aggravated at all the crappy apartments for rent in all the ghettoness that is Cola., SC, and we noticed a sign that said "Owner Financing - 105 Haverford" - which is 3-4 minutes up the road. We wanted to stay in the same area so we decided to check it out.

It was a cute, square brick house...3 bed, 1 1/2 bath with a fenced in yard, in a safe-looking neighborhood. We decided to call and see what was up, b/c sometimes a house payment is cheaper than rent.

$600 a month? Homeowner's Insurance and taxes included in the payment first year? It's for people who are building their credit back up? It's only $64,000 and newly renovated? We went to look at it yesterday...it is ADORABLE.

So we prayed and prayed and prayed that God would send us $500.00 to land the contract so we could settle on a closing date in the fall. [Oct. 1?]

I'd saved $100 for our birthdays that we are putting in, and today Stu's mom said she would donate $115 and give us grocery money for this month...then I talked to my mom online and they are sending $50 to Stu for his b-day and then she said they found an old bank account of mine with $140 in it!!!! So that is $400.00!!! We can take another $100 out if Stu's mom "floats" us on groceries...So right now, it looks like we can sign the contract!!!

We DID do a lot of research about houses in the surrounding area, and also researched the history of the house. We have asked some questions and know someone who can go through the house to check plumbing and electrical...don't worry, we are trying to be as careful as possible!!!

Apparently, this guy works w/ people who have bad credit and helps them re-build it while they purchase a home - the closing cost goes to pay off your credit and then you get the $8,000 tax credit which they suggest you use to pay off any other outstanding credit and then save it for future use...so it sounds pretty cool.

So please pray with us as we attempt to get this lovely little house!!! We have been praying for a few days now that God would just keep opening doors...and so far, he has. He's given us the $500, He's provided Stu w/ a job starting next month, and I know He will provide me with a job as well. Pray that we can save enough money for the closing cost, and that I will get a really good paying job that will start soon after I end my job here at CIU.

Thanks! Love to all! Pictures will come at some point...:)
