An idea popped into my head this morning and it's just the bare bones of a possible story. I was sitting in bed, trying to push back the pain of my sore throat and hopefully wake up in time to go to work, when all of a sudden I got a picture of people who lived in catacombs. As in, they built houses, and every time one of the family members die, they are cremated and continue to "live" in the house, in the walls. Creepy, right? Well, what if their whole society was based on death? Ancient Egyptians were a similar society - the pyramids were big tombs and a lot of their culture was about preparing for life after death. So anyway, then I saw this girl talking to her family one night and what if she was fed up with death? What if this young, vibrant girl wanted to experience LIVING and not think about death? What would happen to her?
*files away for future story idea*
I have a bunch of random ideas like this. I keep them in a notebook or on a document on my thumbdrive, ready at any time to flesh them out. I'm not too worried about writing this one at the moment since I have at least 3 stories I'm working on right now, plus a Star Trek blog game and an up-and-coming Warhammer Fantasy campaign to write posts about...but it's an interesting thought, so I'll keep it for when I'm ready to write something new.
What do you think?
