This Isn't Goodbye

Seeing the last Potter movie this week is like saying goodbye to some very old and very dear friends. And no matter how often we re-read the books or re-watch the movies, we can't deny it. This is goodbye. There's nothing more to be said. We'll never wait in line for another book about Harry, Ron and Hermione's Hogwarts years, and we'll never see Alan Rickman delivering another snide remark as Severus Snape. And I'm going to miss them.

Goodbyes are rarely pleasant and almost never welcome, so there is just one thing to keep from saying our goodbyes to Harry forever. We can introduce him to those of our acquaintance who have - astonishingly - never met him. An entire generation has yet to be born who will know nothing about The Boy Who Lived, and to see the light in their eyes as they discover a magical new world...I, for one, am looking forward to making the introductions.
