I find these things encouraging:
1. Voice Assessment (thanks to Aimee): I have an alto/second soprano voice, which is just under two octaves. With lessons, I will be able to stretch my voice range and, since there is nothing to fix with my voice, I can focus on learning pieces for choirs and auditions.
2. A bag of SC peaches from my boss. Now I can make peach bread.
3. A birthday check from the grandparents - I'd managed to save $10 twice only to see it taken up by having to buy food and/or gas. Now I have an extra $10 to spend at Goodwill, where I need to find some new clothes.
4. Finding a writing style that works! I'm writing in a notebook and then transferring/making small edits onto a computer. Day 2 and I've written over 3,000 words already. Draft 8 of Violet's Monster: Volume I...!
5. A job posting that Stu could possibly apply for and actually get...
All of these things arrived this week while I was frustrated, stressed, and exhausted. I think they are God's little ways of pushing me toward the positive side, when I've been dwelling in a very dank place of despair of late.
Now to spend some time with friends, watch some good movies, and get back into harp practice. And talk to someone about art therapy.
