I'm auditioning for a role in the school musical -- You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown!
We will be:
doing a cold-read (YEEK)
singing 16 bars from a musical of our own choosing (a Capella -- another YEEK)
learning a short dance routine (oh,boy)
Monday night at 6:00pm. I already have the jitters.
But at the same time...I am SO ready to try out for another production.
I'm practicing this weekend by:
reading some of the script aloud (three specific characters: Lucy, Sally and Snoopy)
practicing my 16 bars ("Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" from Phantom of the Opera)
dancing with my exercise/dance DVD
I'm a bit nervous because I haven't danced in a long time and I haven't been practicing monologues (I'll be memorizing two this fall in prep for the Shakespeare auditions next semester) and I've practiced singing but not a *ton* this summer. So I'm feeling really unprepared.
But if I don't go audition, I won't have a chance at a part.
So I'm going to the audition.
Wish me luck.
Also:
Can't you see me as Sally??
